I really enjoyed photographing this family in their Germantown, WI home. The star of this session was six month old Nova Rae. Her mama warned me that she, like most babies, has a mind of her own and may be totally fussy during the session. However, this sweet babe was the COMPLETE opposite. I am fairly sure she did not stop smiling and laughing the whole time I was there. She has two wonderful parents that have a very obvious adoration for her. During the session, her mama said “I know this time won’t last” regarding the baby stage. This is so true! It is so important to me to document them at this age when they are finally sitting up and really gaining so much personality. Nova has the cutest birthmark, fuzzy chick hair and soft leg rolls ever. She enjoyed blowing bubbles, nibbling her own toes and petting (pulling) her fur-brother’s hair.
When I was planning this session with her mama we were throwing around a couple of ideas and I suggested we try to do a milk bath with her. We were unsure how she would do, but thought it wouldn’t hurt to try. I chose a beautiful spring bouquet – because it IS spring (ahem, Wisconsin…some warmer temps at this point would be nice, but I digress). Nova absolutely LOVED the milk bath. She was so interested in all the textures and colors! If you can look at the pictures of her in the bath without smiling, who are you? I can just hear her sweet little giggle when I look at them!
This smiley little girl is growing so quick! I am always so grateful to be invited to document life’s beautiful stages. Thank you for sharing these precious little moments with me.
