The River Room in Grafton provided the perfect backdrop to the wedding reception of Mackenzie and Ben. Their beautiful wedding day was filled with greenery, a pop of red and lots of love! I am sure you’ve heard that rain on your wedding day signifies good luck in the marriage, and while they don’t need any luck because these two are the real deal, I guess a little luck can’t hurt! They started the day getting ready at Morning Star Lutheran Church. The day had far too many heartfelt details to count, but before the ceremony we were already tearing up while Mackenzie shared a sentimental first look with her dad. They have a beautiful relationship and it was definitely felt during this quiet, pre-ceremony moment. The ceremony was officiated by a family-friend pastor that had also presided over the marriages of  Mackenzie’s sisters as well as their baptisms as babies. (how incredible is that?!)

After the ceremony, we dodged the rain under umbrellas and at Covered Bridge Park. Not only did the bridge provide much needed dry space, but the lighting really accented the girls beautiful emerald dresses! Just knowing Ben and Mackenzie, I knew their bridal party would be lots of fun and they definitely were! The group had no trouble making each other laugh and enjoying the day despite the cool, damp weather! (thanks guys!!) Another thing I got to know about these two is just how HAPPY they make one another. I will never forget at their engagement session Ben had to tell Mackenzie that she had to stop smiling so he could kiss her – ahh, my heart. THAT is love, literally so happy you cannot possibly stop smiling even if it is for a moment. This was also true on their wedding day. Their happiness from the love they feel was seen throughout the day and in their families surrounding them.

Mackenzie and Ben, thank you for having me along to laugh, cry and love with you both. I know you share a special kind of love that will last forever. XO
