Shannon and Craig planned a gorgeous winter wedding at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. They chose to incorporate touches of emerald and black within the details of their wedding. The day could not have been more perfect all around! We especially lucked out weather-wise! After weeks of no snow and dreary looking landscapes, we received a large snowstorm the night before their wedding for a fresh coat of white! Is it just me or does the Osthoff look even more magical with a fresh coat of snow?! This storm continued in to the afternoon on their big day which gave us the chance to cozy up under the flurries – SO romantic. They even got to finish the daylight off with a glowing sunset as the clouds faded. Is that not all you could wish for with January weather?!

Shannon, alongside her amazing planner Danielle at Rosewood Weddings, chose some seriously beautiful details for their day. Incorporating gorgeous evergreens into their ceremony, stationary and centerpieces – the perfect addition to any winter wedding. Shannon wore a stunning flowy gown with beautiful beadwork. I loved the way her dress train reminded me of the snow. Craig wore a classic black tux and emerald tie. To bring in the Irish heritage, all the men tied the trinity knot with their ties. They shared a first look next to the pine trees, before braving the cold for some pictures outside. I know I adore snow more than the average person, but you cannot deny the added beauty the slow falling flurries added to their portraits! Plus an added excuse for me to keep them all cozied up together! Even the bridal party agreed to shiver for a few photos before we made our way to the warm bar area.

The ceremony was officiated by “Father Aunt Laura” who is Shannon’s aunt. She did an amazing job telling their story and their personalities. At one point she explained that they share an affinity for laughing. I think this is so true of these two and I felt incredibly lucky to share in their joy.
